Composite Comparison

The first composite (1) is based on a description provided by Thomas Murphy, who saw a man with Deborah Sykes on West End Boulevard about 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 10, 1984, soon before she was raped and killed. Murphy was driving to work at the time. The second (2) and third (3) composites are based on descriptions provided by William Hooper, who was also driving to work and who reported seeing two men with Sykes. The next composite (4) was created from a police mug shot of Terry Thomas, the man witness Johnny Gray initially identified as the person he saw attacking Sykes that morning. The image (5) is the 1984 police mug shot of Darryl Hunt. The image (6) is the 1986 police mug shot of Willard Brown, who confessed to the murder and rape of Sykes in December 2003, after the DNA found in Sykes was found to match Brown's.
