The murder of Deborah Sykes led to two police investigations, a probe by the State Bureau of Investigation, an internal affairs investigation and an inquiry by the city manager's office. The suspect, Darryl Hunt, was tried and convicted twice for murder. The multiple statements given by witnesses reveal not only inconsistent and changing stories, but conflicts among witnesses to the same events.
